Every shop quotes labor by the hour and parts at cost plus a margin. Most just do not tell you. We do. Here are the three call types and what they cost before parts.
Dusty's posts three tiers publicly. $97 for a diagnostic at the shop, $147 for a mobile call out within 40 miles of Cassville, and $197 for priority roadside dispatch. Each tier's fee credits to the repair if you proceed. Parts and labor for the repair itself go on the written estimate before any wrench turns.

If we cannot find the problem on the first diagnostic, you do not pay the diagnostic fee. If we quote you a number, that number does not change without your approval. If something we did fails inside 30 days, we come back and fix it for free. Written, not just spoken.
If your diagnostic visit shows the truck needs a $400 alternator and you say yes, the $97 diagnostic fee comes off the total. You pay $303 plus the part. Same for the $147 mobile call out. The fee is only a separate line item if you decide not to do the repair.
Parts are quoted at cost plus a fair margin, itemized on the written estimate. We use OEM parts when the manufacturer requires it and quality aftermarket when there is no benefit to OEM. We never quote a part over text without confirming the fitment on the truck.
