Our commitment

Dusty's wants every Southwest Missouri driver to be able to find us, read about the work we do, and get on the schedule. This includes drivers with vision differences, motor differences, hearing differences, and cognitive differences. The website aims at WCAG 2.1 AA. Where we fall short, the phone always works.

What this website does for accessibility

  • Semantic HTML5 with one h1 per page and a clear heading hierarchy.
  • Visible focus rings on every interactive element. Tab order matches reading order.
  • Color contrast targets WCAG 2.1 AA on body text. Larger display type uses larger contrast ratios than the minimum.
  • Alt text on meaningful images. Decorative SVGs are marked aria-hidden.
  • ARIA labels on icon-only buttons (menu, close, phone, text).
  • prefers-reduced-motion is honored. Animations stop or shorten when the OS asks.
  • The custom cursor is suppressed on touch devices and never blocks pointer interaction.
  • Form fields have visible labels, large hit targets, and clear validation messages.
  • No autoplay audio, no surprise modal popups, no aggressive interstitials.
  • The site works without JavaScript for the core content. JavaScript adds polish, not access.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • Tab moves forward through interactive elements.
  • Shift+Tab moves backward.
  • Enter activates links and primary buttons.
  • Space activates buttons and toggles disclosure widgets.
  • Ctrl+K on desktop calls the shop directly.

If a barrier gets in the way

If anything on this website is hard to use, hard to read, or just plain broken for you, please reach out. Voice or text 417.598.8753 or email hello@dustysautoandmobile.com. We will read your message, write down the issue, and fix it as soon as we can. Dusty's is one mechanic and one van. We will not be defensive about it.

Compatibility

This website is built and tested against recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Older browsers may receive a degraded but readable experience. Screen reader testing is informal and ongoing. If you use a screen reader and hit a problem, please tell us which screen reader and browser combination so we can reproduce.

Service accessibility

The service itself is mobile, which removes the get-to-the-shop barrier for drivers with limited mobility. We work where the truck is parked. If you would benefit from a slower walkthrough of the diagnostic or invoice, just ask. We are not in a rush to leave.
